Devlin Lane ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to handling your personal information responsibly. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how it's protected.

As a sole trader with turnover under $3 million, Devlin Lane currently sits below the threshold that triggers full obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). We've written this policy in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) anyway, as good practice and because that small business exemption is being phased out from December 2026 — so this policy is built to already meet that standard.

What we collect:

When you shop with us or contact us, we may collect:

- Name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing address

- Order details and purchase history

- Payment information (processed securely by Shopify Payments / our payment gateway — we do not store your full card details)

- Website usage data via cookies and analytics tools (e.g. pages viewed, referral source)

How we use it:

We use your information to:

- Process and fulfil your order, including made-to-order production and shipping

- Communicate with you about your order (confirmations, shipping updates, care instructions)

- Respond to enquiries and customer service requests

- With your consent, send marketing updates about new collections or drops

- Improve our website and product offering

Disclosure to third parties:

We share information only where necessary to run the business:

- Shopify (our e-commerce platform and payment processing)

- Australia Post or other couriers (for delivery)

- Email/marketing platforms, if you've opted in to updates

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Data security:

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, or unauthorised access, including relying on Shopify's secure, PCI-compliant infrastructure for storage and payment handling.

Access and correction:

In the event of a data breach likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected customers and, where required, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), consistent with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
